The brita water filter purity c head with a 30% bypass level.
This head fits all purity c filter cartridges, which means if you want to step up or down in size of cartridge you need not purchase another head, so long as the one you already have is in good condition.
A 30% bypass means that 30% of the water which goes through to the source is not filtered. This is considered as an acceptable standard level of filtration for most that run a commercial coffee machine.
The head features a flush valve and button which you can see on the top of the head.
This enables you with the mains only pipe connected and a bucket or sink ready at the other end, to flush the filter through before use, we suggest doing this for 5 minutes or so.
This is needed as there is usually an amount of sediment sat in the filter which needs flushing through, the sediment is an after effect of manufacturing and you will find this is the case on any filter.
The black plastic lever allows you, when moved to the open position, to change the filter cartridge without the need to turn off the mains water, though we suggest you do this as a precaution anyway.
