Iberital Elite Convex Coffee Tamper. |
|
The Iberital Elite Convex 58mm Coffee Tamper has been designed for Baristas by Baristas. This tamper fits 58mm filter baskets perfectly, so it is compatible with every commercial coffee machine available apart from those using 53mm baskets like La San Marco or Spaziale machines. It should be noted that there are many lever machines which use smaller baskets as well, so it may be an idea to measure before you buy. The Convex Elite also works with most Gaggia domestic machines such as the classic and the Gaggia Baby. This is our top of the range tamper and in our opinion you cannot get a better hand tamper for the money, yes you can pay more but what you are getting is basically the same product with a different name. The Elite weighs in at approxiamately 500G, that's 30% more than most other tampers available on the commercial market today. The tamper feels weighty and sturdy in use. The top of the tamper has the Iberital stamp, a sure sign of quality and is made of polished stainless, the finish of the stainless is extremely high and polishing to get the shine back, even after a hard days coffee making, is a breeze, it takes no time at all. The stem of the tamper is made from wood and is beautifully turned to complement the stainless top and bottom. The bottom of the tamper is once again highly polished stainless and the base is convex. We have found that the convex bottom is advantageous because there is more pressure from the tamp into the middle of the basket, there is a tendancy for the coffee to be pushed outwards, which is a good thing as you are able to eliminate the issue of piled grounds, which sometimes occurs when using a tamper with a flatter base. In conclusion we feel it is safe to say that once you have used the Convex Elite, there will be no turning back, this is an extremely well designed tamper built to last by Baristas who have certainly done there research, the information from which has been articulately formulated to achieve pure excellence.
