Coffee Machine Pumps and Motors

Happy Donkey are suppliers of coffee machine pumps for commercial and some domestic espresso coffee machines.

Domestic machines such as the Gaggia Classic and Rancilio Silvia machines tend to use a vibratory pump.

Most commercial espresso machines use a rotary or rotoflow style pump, we supply pumps to suit most of the following manufacturers of coffee machines: astoria, azkoyen, bezzera, brasilia, cma, costa, expobar, faema, fracino, gaggia, futurmat, iberital, mairali, marzocco, rancilio, san marco, simonelli, spaziale, wega and many more besides.

Quite often it is the case that your pump will give up without warning, with a vibratory pump it is normally the case that it will become a lot noisier before it dies, although this is not always the case.

Rotary pumps tend to give you no warning what so ever and simply give up the ghost when they feel the need. There is no general length of time that you can expect a pump to last for, it's a bit of a lottery, they can last two months or ten years.

One thing which will shorten the life of a coffee machine pump is water starvation, most pumps are lubricated by the water supply they pump, so if the supply is not regular and efficient your pump will not last very long.

It is often the case that if a machine has been left idle for a couple of months or more, when the machine is switched back on the pump dies, they benefit from regular use and are known to occasionally seize up when left unused.
